A HISTORY OF
BEING AHEAD

SINCE 1712
The Augustin farm and the associated Altländer house have been passed down from generation to generation. The ancestors of the Augustin family built the half-timbered building in 1712. This means that the house and farm have been in family hands for over 300 years. Today it is home to one of the leading apple producers in northern Germany.
When Augustin converted their successful fruit farm to organic in 1990, there wasn't much demand. Organic apples were a niche product. Annual growth of organic food sales outpaced that of many conventional food categories so that a second decision with far-reaching consequences was made in 2001. The owners committed themselves to market apples that met one of the highest organic certifications worldwide (Demeter Standard).
Augustin continues to be driven by a purpose: to make sustainable fruit commonplace. State-of-the-art production facilities and regenerative agriculture are designed to restore the health of our planet, from the produce to the supply chain and beyond.

VISIONARY AND
UNIFIED
LEADERSHIP
TODAY. TOMORROW. TOGETHER.
Augustin markets apples from ten independently operating fruit orchards. This dedicated group of veteran farmers share values and quality standards. They approach challenges as hidden opportunities. Noted for transforming old mental maps or paradigms, and creating strategies that are outside the box of conventional thought, the group anticipates change and is proactive, rather than reactive. They are rural trailblazers driven by the new and unexpected. In an agricultural context: farmers who wish to work with nature and not against nature. For the good of customers, clients, and the group itself.

BEYOND THE
REGION
MORE THAN JUST NUMBERS
The new logistic and sorting building includes a warehouse as well as logistics and office space. It was opened in 2022 and offers custom sorting in 2mm scaling steps. We can also pack our apples according to individual colour and weight specifications.
Our produce is stored in Ultra Low Oxygen (ULO) conditions to preserve the fruit longer, so that your consumer can enjoy fresh fruit with a great taste all year round. It is maneuvered from the cold storage facilities to the packaging area where a final, manual quality control is carried out.
Creativity is the cornerstone of everything we do. You need a tailor-made packaging solution: then use our know-how – we create packaging that address your specific needs.

THE TASTE OF REGENERATIVE GOODNESS
Regenerative agriculture seeks to reverse climate change by rebuilding soil organic matter and restoring degraded soil biodiversity – resulting in both carbon drawdown and improving the water cycle. This form of agriculture not only “does no harm” to the land but improves it, using technologies that regenerate and revitalize the soil and the environment.
